Apple Iphone: Touch and Explore PDF Print E-mail
Written by Adam Caitlin

ImageAfter so much rumor and hype, the most anticipated Apple iPhone finally launched in the global mobile phone market. According to Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple company, its a revolutionary phone and offers features that have never been incorporated in any other handsets in the same line up. The company has already got huge popularity with its iPod – a slim and sleek MP3 player that delivers superb sound quality, more space to accommodate and are available at an affordable price range.

As mobile phones have become a necessity in our daily lives, it was really an intelligent decision to launch an Apple iPhone. As far as phone design and features are concerned, its a Widescreen, touch-controlled iPod, a mobile phone as well as an Internet communicator – all three broad stuffs have been squeezed into a slim profile.

The device runs on OS X – an operating system that comes with full fledged applications, allowing users to add more software applications with ease. This complete touch screen phone does not have any keys or a stylus. It has a large screen, a 3.5cm with a high resolution. With its multi touch input method, it prevents any accidental touches and presses, providing more accuracy with touch input. Whenever required, you can use a QWERTY keypad that is displayed on the screen and its easier to type on, automatically detects spelling mistakes.

The Apple iPhone comes with an interesting features including iTunes CoverFlow that runs on the Widescreen mode. It plays videos, music and photos. You can also zoom in and zoom out your favourite photos. The iPhone comes with an integrated 2.0 MP camera. Supported with either 4GB or 8GB of space – it allows more music, videos, images and other data files.

Its a quad band GSM phone with EDGE support. The most disappointing thing about this phone is the absence of 3G/WCDMA support. The device runs Safari, the Web browser for mobile Internet. Additional features of the phone are Google Maps, Email support (POP3/IMAP). Sharing of data can be done wirelessly via Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi for wireless mobile Internet. All these features have been incorporated in a slim device with just 11.6mm thickness.

Dear Moiko

Dear Moiko,

My name is Ami, and I am the
director of Idealist.org. I am
writing to ask you a favor.

This month we are doing
something special at Idealist,
and we need your help
to spread the word.

Here is the story.
Posting a job on Idealist
ourselves, and this small fee
keeps us afloat) but tarting today,
and through the end of June,
all job postings on idealist are
free for any nonprofit organization.

We are doing this so that any
organization can try us at no cost,
and ur ultimate goal is to bring you
every nonprofit job that is open
around the country (as well as
internships and volunteer oppor-
tunities, which are always free).

And here is where we need
your help. If you know anyone
who works at a onprofit organi-
zation, please share this message
with them. And if you have a way
to get the word out to friends
and colleagues across he sector
through a mailing list, a blog,
or any other way - please
tell them that Idealist is free
for the whole month of June.

Lastly, here is a video
we produced for this month,
that describes why dealist is
the best place to post a nonprofit job:

with your networks, and have a good
week!

Talk of the Town

Trinidad - Tobago

2008 is the Year of  Child Safety!
Current mood: Angry
Category: Children

I got an email from Trinidad today. It's shocking, the story I have heard.

It's time child safety becomes a top priority worldwide. Children have been under attack without protection from those that harm them for too long.  This, more than any other single factor, accounts for the high drug abuse, shattered lives, broken families, and a high suicide rate. The days of trusting everyone who has a smile around our children are over. All too often, the culprit is a boyfriend of a single mother, or a stepfather. Single mothers, trying to feel their empty lives with someone, even just to babysit while they go to work. Again, a child pays the price with her life. Rapped, beaten, chopped up, by someone her mother loved and trusted, her man, her child's heartless killer.

A little girl,  Her name was Hope and she was only 8 years old. Dead.

Corporate Edge

buildingGetting the corporate edge for small businesses may not be as mind boggling as it appears to be.  Lots of information and task are made to seem insurmountable,  thus many small businesses give up before they really get started. Don't Quit.
